Rhinestone Sizes

Rhinestones have graduating sizes with SS ( stone size - SS20 as an example.)  The higher the SS size the larger the stone. Larger stones create a flash and smaller stones create a glimmer.

How Many Rhinestones in a Gross?

A gross is a unit of measurement and is standard all over the world.
A gross means 144 pieces. Regardless of the stone size, SS5 or SS40 it is still 144 rhinestones.

We sell most of our rhinestones in a 10 gross bag, unless stated. Each size might be sold in a 1 gross, 2 gross, or 10 gross.

1 gross = 144pc
2 gross = 288pc
10 gross= 1440pc

Application

HotFix Rhinestones

This method uses hot fix stones. These crystals have heat activated glue disk on their underside. The stones adhere to a product or garment once heat is applied.( Must use a HotFix applicator)

 Smaller stones will attach faster than larger stones.

Gluing Flatback Rhinestones

A method where you glue stones one at a time with fresh and good quality embellishment glue. Our Rhinestones have a brushed backing. The brushed backing has a small amount of texture allowing the glue to adhere better.

Our choice is GemTac Glue, an acrylic based glue. You can glue any stones that have a flatback, You cannot dry-clean garments that have glue on rhinestones.

Wash by hand carefully and hang dry.

You can also use E600, very strong glue. Please make sure you are in a well ventilated area, as this glue can be toxic. We recommend stoning outside or with a special mask.
